Semarang — FISIP Diponegoro University (UNDIP) together with DP3AKB Central Java strengthened their commitment to creating a safe campus environment through the Talkshow “Kampus Bebas Kekerasan: Edukasi Kesadaran Relasi dan Pencegahan Kekerasan Seksual” (Campus Free from Violence: Awareness Education on Relationships and the Prevention of Sexual Violence), Wednesday (9/9/2026).
The event, held at the Theater Room, Building C, 1st Floor, FISIP UNDIP, began with the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between FISIP UNDIP and DP3AKB Central Java. In his remarks, Dean of FISIP UNDIP Prof. Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., emphasized that the campus must implement zero tolerance for all forms of violence. “FISIP UNDIP is committed to building an inclusive campus environment free from violence, be it verbal, psychological, physical, or sexual violence,” he asserted.
FISIP UNDIP Government Science lecturer and event moderator, Jihan Marsya Azahra, S.I.P., M.I.P., stated that a safe space on campus must be established through shared awareness, including the courage to identify and report acts of violence. “A safe space on campus is not just a slogan. Students need to understand violence, consent, and have the courage to report. This is certainly not easy due to the frequent presence of stigma and victim blaming. Moreover, AI and deepfake introduce new forms of violence that we need to anticipate,” she said.
Meanwhile, Lusia Astrika, S.IP., M.Si., from the FISIP Wellness Unit, emphasized that violence is not only physical, but can also be verbal or manifest within personal relationships. “In the student environment, violence often emerges in romantic relationships. These relationships may begin with affection but can develop into control over a partner. Therefore, it is important for students to recognize the boundary between healthy relationships and violent behavior,” she explained.
From DP3AKB Central Java, Faisa Mukti Septyani, S.Sos., M.Si., stated that the high number of sexual violence cases needs to be interpreted comprehensively. “The high incidence of sexual violence not only indicates that we still have problems with violence, but may also reflect increased victim awareness to report and greater access to reporting mechanisms. The government is also continuously making prevention efforts, including strengthening task forces and various protection services,” she explained.
In the discussion session, FISIP UNDIP Government Science student Randy Pranata Ginting also highlighted the potential misuse of deepfake technology to manipulate someone’s images. According to him, technological advancement must be accompanied by protective mechanisms capable of safeguarding student privacy.
“AI developments such as deepfake present new challenges in cases of sexual violence. We need to consider response mechanisms while ensuring protection of student privacy,” he said. Through this collaboration, FISIP UNDIP and DP3AKB Central Java promote the strengthening of education, reporting mechanisms, and academic community awareness in order to work together to prevent violence and build a safe space on campus.
